Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions a child can experience. Young Epilepsy is dedicated to improving research, treatment and direct support. You can help transform young lives by fundraising or donating today. Together we create possible.

Story

"My name is Alfie and I'm lucky enough to attend St Piers school. They help me and my school friends to learn whilst giving me extra support with my walking, talking and when I get stressed sometimes.

I love St Piers, I have new friends that also need help like I do. Sometimes we get to do fun activities like visiting the farm and feeding the animals. Since being at St Piers I am less stressed and my mummy thinks my behaviour has improved.

I feel very lucky to be here and I'd Iike to raise money to give back to other children that need extra support like I do. I have hypermobility syndrome and get very tired easily. Even just sitting at a desk can make me tired because my muscles have to work extra hard to stay in position. I also have problems with my feet and ankles so I have special orthotics to help me.To walk 2k with my mummy is a huge challenge for me, I'd be so grateful for your support".

St Piers supports children and young people across the UK, both in our specialist education, St Piers School and College, in Surrey and in communities around the country through our outreach programmes, Connect and Transitions. With your help we support children and young people, as well as their families, from the point of diagnosis through to transitioning into adulthood.
