Story

LASAG provides practical and emotional support to anyone affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases across London and The South East. Our team understand the impact such diseases have on individuals and their families, both physically and psychologically, and are very experienced in delivering support at home, over the phone and at our monthly support groups. They are knowledgeable about benefits and compensation schemes, and maintain close liaison with other key professionals in the care of the sufferer and their families.

When my Dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma in December 2022 both my parents were extremely grateful for the support that they received from London Asbestos Support Awareness Group. (LASAG) They offered lots of practical help and their kindness  and  compassion helped our family immensely.

While my Dad was offerred some treatment to alleviate his symptons  after his diagnosis, in his case the mesothelioma was aggressive and he sadly passed away three months later. LASAG have continued to offer support to our family, checking in on my Mum again and offering other support when we most needed it.

I decided to take part in London Landmarks for LASAG because of that help at a time when we really needed it. When I took up running six years ago my Dad was always keen to hear about my runs. I would often suddenly spot his and my mum's smiling faces at a finish line or en route. It is fitting to compete in London Landmarks as my Dad loved a day out in London on the buses or visiting the parks and sites.

So if you are able to support,  no matter what the amount,  to help this charity continue their work it would be very much appreciated.
