I'm running this half marathon for two reasons - firstly to get me running again and secondly, but more importantly, to raise money for Mind.

Mind is a charity with a mission to help create a society that promotes and protects good mental health.  Mental illness doesn't just mean that someone's gone bananas or stark raving bonkers.  Mental illness affects over 15 million people every year in the UK.  These illnesss cover a wide range of mental issues including post-natal depression, anxiety, bullying, bereavement and stress to name but a few.

In fact, 1 in 4 people every year are likely to experience some kind of mental health problem and Mind offers help and support to every single one of them.

Mind has been working towards this mission for over 60 years and currently helps around 250,000 people anually.
