Story
A few years ago I attempted a 10K and ended up walking it, coming last by far! At the time I was proud I’d even managed to move 10K, but there was also a part of me humiliated that I had to walk and came last. It is a horrible feeling finishing a race and seeing most of it has been packed away and people have left.
I have now booked to do the 5K Glow Night Run in Windsor with 2 of my colleagues. This time I want to be able to run the entire thing and hopefully not finish last!!! However at the moment I cannot even do a light jog for over 1 minute. Even the first step in the ‘Couch to 5K’ is too much! But I can do this!
I have chose this charity as in the UK, we are blessed with the education system and resources we have in all aspects of life. However in Morocco things are very different, particularly in the rural areas.
Things this charity have achieved so far are:
- Land purchased to build modern spacious school
- Medicines given for conjunctivitis, trachoma, eczema, anaemia
- Operations on 2 children
- Food provided to the poorest families
- Chickens purchased for most families
- Goat & kid given to family to provide income
- Clothes, pencil cases, shoes etc. given to help the families
