Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our story for Matilda is quite a small one. She was born 15 weeks early due to me having pre eclampsia. She arrived with us on Friday the 19th June at 4.20am weighing just 1lb 4oz. She was perfect from the start she fought living up to her name Matilda meaning mighty in battle.

Both Mommy and Daddy got to have a cuddle with Matilda we got to see her beautiful eyes and hold her hand. Unfortunately though Matilda's short life came to an end just 2 weeks after she arrived. We will always be greatful that we got those two weeks with our perfect little girl, none of which wouldn't have been possible without the help and support of the neonatal intensive care unit at the royal Stoke hospital.

We couldn't of asked for anything more from any of the staff there. They will always be Matilda's extended family. The work they do and the support they gave us was above and beyond what anyone could expect.

They have facilities to let families stay in rooms in the hospital so parents like us don't have to travel far everyday to see their babies so we got to spend as much precious time with Matilda as possible.

Both myself and Marc cannot think of anything we would rather raise money for, we are overcome with the kindness of people at a time when we are questioning why life can be so cruel. If we can help raise money for the neonatal unit to help other families in the future like us then we think Matilda's love and strength will live on.
