Story
Green Kordofan focuses on helping children displaced by civil war who are living in Yida refugee camp in South Sudan.
We first met the charity’s director, Raga Gibreel, last summer on a walk fundraising for refugees. After explaining to us the important work the charity does, she mentioned there was an opportunity to support them by running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2024.
The charity aims to empower children who have been displaced from their homes by using sport to build their confidence and self-esteem, providing them the childhood opportunities they have been deprived of by war. This includes running a girls’ volleyball team in the camp and 38 girls’ and boys’ football teams.
The money you donate will go towards their small and dedicated team of 5 staff and 40 volunteers that work inside Yida refugee camp.
