Domestic violence has increased during lockdown, and the thought of people being trapped with their abusers in this situation is heartbreaking. Domestic violence disproportionately affects women, and recent events have brought to light how dangerous it is to simply be a woman. We aren’t safe outdoors, or in our own homes.

In April I’m running a half marathon and originally wasn’t going to ask for sponsorship, but after hearing about Sarah Everard and knowing how much what happened to her has saddened my friends and I, I want to fundraise for  Renfrewshire Women’s Aid.
