Story
In two weeks I will (again) be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on behalf of Friends of Colombia for Social Aid (FOCSA).
FOCSA is a small organisation focused on directly supporting hospitals and health clinics throughout disadvantaged areas of Colombia. While I am running for the same charity as last year, the proceeds will go to a different project: the purchase of essential and specialised medical equipment for the paediatric unit at the Hernando Moncaleano Hospital in Neiva, Huila. This hospital is the main provider of high complexity care for a population of over 2.2 million, treating around 2.300 urgent and acute paediatric cases every month, in an area that extends to the departments of Huila, Tolima, Caquetá, Putumayo and Cauca in the south-central region of Colombia.
If it can provide any motivation for those who already generously supported me last year, I plan on beating last year’s half marathon time of 1:47 by at least 10 minutes.
Thank you very much for your generous support!
