Yes, i know it's not me but my son Dominic is so much more photogenic, well at least he was at the tender age of 12 months. It's for him and his sister and the millions of young people around the world i'm participating in this challange.

On the 9th October this year (Just over 1 week) I am going to trek to the SUMMIT OF MT KILIMANJARO for Restless Development and young people around the world. Why?

Well first and foremost it's to support the young people of the world who will shape it's future once we old folk stop messing it up.

Second, to fulfill a personal challange and in the process get fitter so i can keep up with both my children who are 4 and 2 and watch them grow into well rounded adults.

Restless Development, formally known as Students Partnership Worldwide, believes that young people are the solution. They are the largest, most energetic group of people in the world. Over 50% of the world's population is under 25! They channel the indisputably positive power of young people to bring about real progress. They train, educate, support and inspire young people to lead development in their countries and communities.

Each week, they work with over 400,000 young people. Together they reach over 1 million people each year. They do this at a cost of £9  or $14 USD per young person per year.

They provide technical expertise and support to a network of more than 60 youth-led organisations, helping more than 100,000 young people in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Restless development do a lot, and I'd like them to do a whole lot more, that's why I'm taking on Kilimanjaro, to prove what might appear to be impossible - Andrew Boyle on the top of Kili - is actually possible with determination and a lot of much needed support!
