A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to the fantastic amount of money raised for Sparks - this site will remain open for a little while longer so if you have yet to donate or wish to add some more please do so and ensure that Sparks benefits as much as possible.

Sunday 25th April was a fantastic experience - I managed to make it round in 3 Hours 43 Minutes and 23 Seconds (not too bad for a first attempt).  The support of the crowd was fantastic but it was really the financial support you have all provided for Sparks that was my biggest motivation.

The choice of Sparks was not without personal resonance - in June 2008 my beautiful niece Sophia was born and tragically passed away on the same day.  Sparks is a children's medical research charity who fund research across a whole range of paediatric medicine.  Their goal is for all babies to be born healthy and stay healthy, and to reduce the number of babies born in the UK (currently 70 every day) with a life-threatening condition.  Every pound you donate will help research than can prevent the pain and suffering of children and the associated impact on their families - if you have not had the chance to donate so far please dig deep and donate now.
