12 members and friends of WYFRS band are embarking on one of our biggest ever challenges this May Bank Holiday - supported by 6 of our colleagues.

We are attempting to cycle to official Coast to Coast route – from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. The route takes them 140miles over 3 days, and will include cycling over 10,000ft of climbs!

As well as taking on the personal challenge, the group are also seeking sponsorship for a number of worthy causes.

I've chosen to fund raise for the British Heart Foundation. There is a strong history of heart problems in my family. Heart failure claimed the lives of all four of my grandparents and so I'm doing my bit to try and help.
