I am raising money for Paul’s Place - an invaluable service which provides free one to one counselling to those bereaved by suicide. I have chosen this charity as it is a service which has been set up following the loss of Paul Williams who was a close friend of Liam Ward - my step daughter Emma’s partner. Liam has told me of the tireless work Agnes, Joe and all the Williams have put into setting up the service and it is a truly inspiring endeavour that needs as much support as possible to ensure it can continue assisting as many people as rely on the vital help it delivers.

I have decided to participate in the Great North Swim - a one mile swim in Windermere on Saturday 9th June 2018:

I have started my swim journey with trips to the gym and local pool, and still need to acclimatise from pool to open water temperatures and hope to do so before the big day. I have completed the Great North Swim twice before and although I did find it physically demanding (not to mention cold!) I am really keen to beat my previous times. We have booked a place to stay for the weekend so will be there from Friday to Sunday; however if anyone wants to join us on the day they would be very welcome. 

Any money I raise will go directly to the charity and will help to provide funding for resources for Paul’s Place to enable their support to continue. I would be really grateful for any donations, however small.
