Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is the 9th most common cause of cancer death in the UK – 9th in men and 7th in women. Around 4,440 people died from non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2008 in the UK.

How many of you have heard of NHL? Why am I asking you this? NHL got the better of my Dad in April 2001, just 2 years into his retirement.

Many of you will know that my wife Julie and I have 3 little girls aged 5,3 &1, and particularly for those that work with me, know I often talk about them. My Dad is never far from my thoughts and often wish he was still with us to see their cheeky little faces! He would have been one of the many best Grandads in the world!

So I have decided to raise some cash to help with finding effective treatment and possibly a cure for NHL and the many other forms of cancer, by taking part in Huddersfield 10k Race 4 Life.  

I am aiming to complete it in under an hour. Many of you have said I'll walk it....I hope not - I want to run it! 

So please sponsor me, no matter how small, every little will help.
