Story
After a lot of soul searching I’ve decided to take the plunge and run the London Marathon next April.
To be honest the thought of running 26.2 miles was a bit daunting as I wasn’t in the best shape and on my first run I had trouble running 5KM without stopping and to think that the marathon is over eight times that distance was worrying to say the least. Since that run I’ve gradually increased my running distance and recently completed my first 10km run and raised money for Muscular Dystrophy UK which was great and gave me a huge sense of achievement.
I’m running the marathon for the Kent Association for the Blind and a big thanks to them for giving me this opportunity and once again I’m asking all my friends and family to support me by donating to this good cause.
I know I’ve got 6 months of hard work ahead of me and knowing it’s for a good cause will hopefully give me the motivation to get out and train in the cold and dark though winter.
I will update this page regularly so people can see my progress and my next target before the ‘big one’ is a half marathon early next year.
My actual donation target is £1300 but if I can raise half of that then my employer DHL will match it
Thanks in advance for your generosity now onwards and upwards with the training 👍😜🏃♂️
