This year I was lucky to get a ballot place in The Great North Run. This is one of the biggest half marathons, so I thought it would also be a great opportunity to raise money for a local charity, Emily’s Star.

Since meeting Emily's Mum Katie, I have learnt of the fantastic work that the charity does.

⭐️ Granting wishes to families who have a child or children with life limiting, or life threatening illness.

⭐️ Raising awareness of Trisomy 18 also known as Edwards Syndrome, the UK's second most common syndrome

⭐️ Providing neonatal boxes to local neonatal units that include items for both Mum and premature or underweight babies. They call these boxes “Emily’s Gift”
