Event: A Night in the Cloisters, on 19 January 2020
We address the needs of homeless people to enable them to achieve independence

Story

This is a unique opportunity to sleep in the wonderful ancient Cloisters of Norwich Cathedral. Fall asleep and wake in one of the most beautiful settings in the city of Norwich. Arrive at 9pm, at the Dark Entry to Norwich Cathedral Cloisters, bringing what you need for a good night's sleep. Soup & Snacks will be served to warm you. There will then be a chance to hear more about the work of the amazing St Martins and its work helping people out of homelessness. Finally before we climb in our sleeping bags we will say, by Candlelight, the traditional Night Office of Compline. A cooked breakfast will be available in Prior's Hall from 6.45 and those who wish are welcome to join Morning Prayer in the Cathedral at 7.30am . Open to those aged 18yrs and older. No dogs, no alcohol, no tents! We will have a supply of cardboard to go underneath sleep bags etc. All we ask in return for the opportunity to sleep in this unique venue is that you raise as much sponsorship as you can for the work of St Martins to support their work in helping the homeless in our city and helping rebuild lives. This Sponsored Night in the Cloisters is part of a weekend focusing on homelessness. During Saturday 8th there will be a opportunity to meet the different agencies working across the city to address homelessness, visit our human library to hear stories of homelessness and visit the Knitted House . If you need further information please contact Canon Andy Bryant via canon.missionandpastoral@cathedral.org.uk P.s Some folk have struggled to sign up on this site but please do not give up! Click "join the team", then click "connect to fundraising page", then click "create your own fundraising page", the click "describe your event" and write "A Night in the Cloisters" and hopefully that will get you there
