Story
Hi all,
OK, so my friend Malini has recently beaten me senseless and press ganged me into supportively encouraged me to sign up for the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in London on 26th September.
To date the furthest I have ever run in my life is 10k and to be honest I did that really slowly. This time I'm running twice the distance and aim to do this at a pace 25% quicker. This will be quite an effort, but I'm looking forward to the challenge, am enjoying the training and would really appreciate your support.
I'm running to raise money for Shelter who are the leading UK housing and homelessness charity. They help people find & keep a home and campaign for decent housing for all. Hopefully you'll agree this is a suitably worthy cause.
Now the tricky part...... As you've probably gathered by now I'm looking for some sponsorship!
If you feel that you are able to support me, Please note that Barclays will match £ for £ any money that I am able to raise (up to £750) so anything you can spare will be automatically doubled (and the Inland Revenue will contribute an extra 28p per £ if you are eligible for gift aid).
I'm conscious that the suggested donation amounts here on the Just Giving site are particularly high. Please don't let this put you off. Every penny counts and I know that on occasions when I am struggling to find motivation, the dread of having to admit defeat and pay you back any money you have donated will help get me through. Please however don't feel obliged......
Many thanks
Anil
