Hi!
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page for Mind. This is the second (slightly unrealistic) fitness goal I've set myself this year - not only running a half marathon, injury permitting, but I want to raise £700 for this fantastic charity.. oh and a week later I'm going to climb Kilimajaro, but that's not for charity :)
I experience mental distress on a daily basis - not all my own, I hasten to add - but actually through working with people from all walks of life who experience different problems and challenges. Working in HR means I see all these first hand and how they can impact on both personal and work life. I've come to appreciate that mental health cannot be taken for granted, nor should mental health problems be viewed as a weakness or something to hide, which is still the case for many.

You will be making a difference by raising funds and awareness for the 1 in 4 of us who experience mental distress every year in the UK. Running outdoors in a green environment has been proven to boost mood, reduce stress, anxiety and negative emotions, and improve overall mental wellbeing. I will be doing this a lot!!
