We help children with disabilities to achieve their potential

Story

When I crossed the finish line of the marathon last year I vowed "never again"! However, knowing a 2 year old boy named Toby with Cerebral Palsy has inspired me to get my trainers on again.

I will be raising money for Toby and a charity called Brainwave which supports brain injured children throughout the UK.  To encourage your donations, I'm going to sweat it out dressed as Scooby Doo! I must be barking mad (Certainly the people who saw me running along the towpath giving the costume a test run seemed to think so)!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please make sure you tick the box for gift aid as an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Tobys Story:

Toby is just over two years old and cannot walk unaided due to having Cerebral Palsy. His diagnosis is Spastic Diaplegia which means he has increased tone in his muscles in his lower limbs. The only way forward for him at his age is Physiotherapy. Brainwave have developed a programme tailored for him to help him sit on the floor to enable him to play like any other child his age. Once he can do this he will have the ability as another child his age to then help him gain balance and posture to help him start to learn to walk. We are very confident that he will be able to walk, but whether it will be 1 year or 16 years, no one knows.
