As some of you may know; I along with some others are taking on the epic Challenge of the Etape du Tour

Etape du Tour

L'Etape is an official stage of the Tour de France. It is held every year and is open to amateurs to give them a chance to ride a stage of the Tour. It is always on one of the mountain stages to make it a proper challenge! The 174-kilometre route takes in the tough climbs of the Marie-Blanque and Soulor before a showpiece summit finish on the Tourmalet, the highest road pass in the central .

The Charity that we have decided to support is the Emergency Information Service (EIS) of the Thomson Reuters Foundation. As many of you will know the EIS focuses on the often overlooked aspect of providing access to life-saving information to those affected by earthquakes and other catastrophes. Most recently during the devastating earthquake in Haiti the EIS distributed vital information such as safe drinking water locations, aid distribution, medical relief and the location of places of shelter in situations when all other information networks have failed.

We feel that raising at least US$ 70,000 (which comes to just about US$ 2,000 per rider) is well within our reach. We actually think that we are capable of collecting considerably more than that.
