We Help and support homeless veterans, and to Improve the lives of veterans in need

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself and 7 others (all 40 - 55 years old) are undertaking the UK National 3 Peaks Challenge to be completed within 24Hrs.  This is no easy challenge but so worth it to support a small but vital charity who support homeless Veterans in need.

Homelessness can hit anyone at any time but it can be ever so more difficult for those suffering from the effects of conflict or trauma who have complex mental health or medical needs due to the things they've seen or experienced.

Since the charity was created it has helped almost 700 veterans with their housing problems mostly through providing immediate solutions to getting veterans off the streets and back into mainstream life through providing Bed & Breakfast rooms.

Our aim is to attempt to raise in excess of our target to enable the charity to purchase their own building to offer longer term rehabilitative services to some of our most damaged veterans.

The challenge and fund raising efforts is also being done to pay tribute to and remember a dear friend and veteran call John Lydiate who after serving in the UK Armed Forces for many years sadly took his own life when he simply could not go any more.  A highly decorated special forces operative who sadly did not get the respite he so desperately needed.  He had a passion for hiking all over the world and I'm sure he will be looking down on us willing us on to complete this challenge.

R.I.P John, this one is for you my friend.
