In July 2016 I shall be undertaking four challenges culminating in The Iceland Challenge.

Just south of the Arctic Circle in Iceland, I will be jogging, trekking and scrambling over a Double Marathon distance of 52 miles on the Laugavegurinn (Laugavegur) trail in just 2 days. That's 2 marathons in 2 days!

The terrain will consist of uneven volcanic rock, scree, snow fields & glaciers, hot springs and glacial iced river crossings (that's wading through some rivers, there ain't too many bridges!) brrr ...

The 2016 MegaChallenge itself will consist of,

  • Feb 2016         Brighton Half Marathon - Done 1hr 58 min
  • Apr 2016         Brighton Marathon - Done 5 hr 15 min
  • May 2016        London2Brighton 44km ultra  -Done
  • July 2016        The Iceland Challenge - Done!!!!!!!!!

all going to this fund raising page for one big total.

all of this for one reason ...

Weston Hospicecare provides specialist care free of charge to the 1 in 100 local people with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart or lung failure.

Cancer has plagued our family. We have lost every absent member of our family to cancer and so appreciate all of the support that these small, independent and, very importantly, local hospices provide. This time they helped my mum-in-law, Marie Therese Leigh, who died from oesophageal cancer today (13 August 2015, rest in peace sweetheart). Their invaluable care and support allowed her to stay at home for as long as possible while helping her husband, Peter, to care for her there.

Please help Weston Hospicecare to help others. They provide such a vital service which is provided by a small group of really dedicated people. They need our help so they can help the people we love.

Our loved ones are scared, in pain and confused, dependent on others to provide understanding, empathy, pain control and support.

We know we are asking you yet again for financial help but without you these wonderful, compassionate groups of people cannot operate, we know we don't have to convince you of this.

So once again, please, please, do help if you can. We are serious when we say, every single £1 helps, it really does.

Thank you again for helping make a difference.
