Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am raising money for Dream A Dream (
http://www.dreamadream.org/) by running the British London 10K run on the 11th of July 2010.
Dream A Dream is an amazing children's charity in Bangalore, India set up by Vishal, a friend from University. He gave up a promising career in banking to help street children realise their dreams. Today Dream a Dream works with over 2000 vulnerable children in Bangalore and Vishal has been recognised as an Ashoka Fellow, so he has done well.
Most charities in India provide children with their basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter and an education. However this still leaves a huge gap, as the children lack the critical life-skills necessary to be successful in the real world.
Dream a Dream fills this gap by providing a comprehensive range of programmes that help children develop life-skills such as effective communication, decision-making and problem-solving, computer/ IT skills etc. What makes Dream a Dream’s model really interesting is that they work with over a 1,000 volunteers to provide this training, with each volunteer providing training in their specific area of expertise. So, an IT engineer may train the children in computer skills, while an MBA may train them in communication and business skills. Here is a short video about what they do:

Please help Dream A Dream make another child’s dream a reality! Your generous support will be much appeciated.
Note: Dream A Dream is affiliated to Future Sense, a UK charity who will be collecting money on their behalf. Rest assured, the money is going to Dream A Dream in Bangalore.
