Story

Team Audas are back for 2013 with their biggest challenge to date!!

The Team are undertaking three separate challenges across 2013 starting with Audas' now annual attendance at the Bupa Great Manchester Run on 26th May 2013, with 10 members of the team participating in the 10K run around Manchester City Centre. The team will pass such sights as the world famous Manchester Utd Football ground ‘Old Trafford’, enjoying organised live bands and music along the way as well as soaking in the atmosphere from all the supporters who come along to cheer them on.

The second challenge the team will face is the 60 mile bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool on Sunday 14th July 2013. The team will be setting off from Old Trafford and cycle their way through the Lancashire town’s country lanes of Leigh, Wigan, Preston & Warton finally ending up at the Blackpool’s South Promenade. On their arrival at South Promenade the team will be greeted with a festival of celebrations from all their supporters as well as live music, barbeques and a well-earned drink in the beer tent available throughout the day for all those who want to come along and support the team.

Finally Team Audas will be taking on the mammoth task of 'The Three Peaks Challenge'. The Three Peaks challenge is climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales in 24 hours.

The Challenge will start in Fort William Scotland the home of the first & highest mountain our team will face, Ben Nevis at 1344m. Secondly Scafell Pike in the Lake District at 978m this is the lowest summit of the three with its relentless and steep ascent, it is arguably the hardest of all. Last but not least Snowdon in Wales with an elevation of 1085m. Starting at Pen-y-Pass, they will already be 359m above sea level; however, this does not make Snowdon an ‘easy mountain’. Snowdon has a few different route options, most of which share the same final steep ascent to the summit.

The team are facing all these challenges to raise money for the Prostate Cancer UK Charity.

Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. They have three priorities:

1.  Supporting men and providing information

2.  Finding answers by funding research

3.  Leading change to raise awareness and improve care.
