Story

The crisis in Syria is hard to ignore and the pictures we see in the media bear little resemblance to what is actually happening. For countless Syrians, who have endured nearly three years of brutal conflict, that urgency is a daily reality. With their homes bombed and their jobs gone, where will they live? How will they get food, water, medicine?

With each day passing we are saddened to see the situation of our Syrian inhabitants go from bad to worse. The evil regime of Bashar al Assad is persecuting men, women and particularly children for their only crime is that they testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah. The world stands a mute spectator to this bloody carnage of innocents. We cannot stand and day passes by without trying our best to help these people. Just like how when a part of the body is afflicted with pain the whole body is affected, the Ummah too as one body feels the pain of our brothers and sisters.

It's time that we did our best to help our brothers and sisters in Syria with whatever Allah has provided for us. Remember, thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and are living as refugees in neighboring lands. The least we could do is contribute in aiding them to get their basic necessities (food, water, clothing and medicines). This is without a doubt the world’s most pressing humanitarian crisis. Recently the United Nations said Syria's civil war has led to the worst refugee crisis since the Rwandan genocide two decades ago.

For this cause we have teamed up with the charity Ummah Welfare Trust who have a 100% donation policy.

Our challenge is to climb up Mount Ben Nevis , the highest mountain in the British Isles. Standing at 1,344 metres (4,409 ft) above sea level, it is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William and raise as much as possible for the people of Syria.

The climb will take place only few days after the Ramadan fasting period. It will test our physical and mental abilities, however this is nothing compared to the situation in Syria where days are passing by for people without any food, water or shelter.

We know this task will be very challenging and feel that with all your support and encouragement we can achieve this.

Any amount large or small will aid the fundraising process.

This is your chance (a great opportunity to gain the rewards from Ramadhan) to help our brothers and sisters of Syria:

The Prophet (SAW) said about brotherhood: "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." [Bukhari & Muslim].
