Story
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I'm very close now to my target and that support will be realy important when I hit the streets of south east London in a couple of weeks time. When I signed up I had overlooked that I would be doing the lion's share of the training in the full heat of a Madrid summer, and it's turned out to be perhaps the hottest ever. While there have been a couple of setbacks, including finding myself face down on the asphalt twice, it has mostly gone well. But right now I'm just looking forward to getting it done and retiring with a third and final marathon in the bag.
If you're in London on October 2 please support everyone out there, it really makes a massive difference!
Young people today are facing perhaps the most complex outlook for education and entering the workforce for several generations. And they're doing so at time when supporting funds and opportunities are increasingly restricted.
I've therefore chosen to run my last ever* marathon for UK Youth, a charity that works with more than 11 million children in the UK to help unlock those opportunities and build futures for them.
Anything you can spare to donate would be most appreciated, and hugely motivational. From my last London experience I can tell you that without the generosity of donors, I'd have stopped at 16 miles when my legs were delivering a fairly unequivocal message that it was time to stop
