Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Amsterdam Marathon which is on Sunday the 20th of October 2013. In doing so I am raising money for the charity AICR (Association for International Cancer Research). AICR is a global charity and funds research into the causes of cancer. What makes it different to other charities is that they have no geographical boundaries. They fund the best science no matter where it takes place, meaning the money raised is given to the best and most deserving projects available.
Why am I doing this? It is a huge personal challenge (particularly as a student!). I have never run a marathon before - and I suspect it will be hard going. Your support will mean a huge amount to me, to keep up the training and especially to cross the finish line in October. I also know that cancer has probably touched all of us (two of my grandparents passed away because of it), so for me, I'm proud that the money raised will continue to fund research and help a meaningful cause.
Even a couple of quid would mean a lot. Hope you can help.
