it was like the Tour de France as we now had three support cars!!!
Ask Alan how he gets a water bottle from the support team lol butterfingers xxxx
Eve then joined us for the last 10 miles Go Evie Go xxx
I spoke with Dad about Auntie Kath and how proud she would have been of us - More Tears as I miss her so much xxxxx

LeJog Day 16 Stage 14 - Latheron - John O'Groats 33.4 Miles
POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - well last day woooohoooo
xxxx
Strange but very mixed feelings today it's the end of a hard two weeks and has been a rollercoaster of a ride and trip! Looking back to the start of the ride on a misty raining start at Lands End I can't believe we are here 34 miles from the finish to John O'Groats!!!! Yesterday was hard, me and Dad spoke about the people we have rode for and that Auntie Kath's wish was I finish what I started - well I will but not only have I picked a fight with Cancer I am determined to carry on my Crusade and help other people who suffer and also the team at the Beatson to find a cure!!!!!! Little words from a 13 yearold girl but As my Dad says I walk the talk now!!
I have a couple of ideas with what I want to do now but one is a yearly coast to coast which could be a family ride and would be max of 100 miles over two days - I enjoyed the stage into Annan where we were joined by friends and family of the riders! Watching from the back of the riders it was a great feeling! This would be a Ride of Hope - Hope that we will beat Cancer and money raised would go to Cancer Research UK - Watch this space!!!!!
Yesterday was a great ride Auntie Kath was looking down on me as the sun shone all day as the rest of the UK was wet! XXXXXXXX
Once we saw the signs for John O'Groats we could see the mileage coming down!!!!!
Even Dad was ok - the lejog book must have been written a long time ago as we were able to go across the bridge on the A9 which saved 15 miles xxxx
As the weather was great I was just happy to watch the miles go down.
The scenery was stunning and when I reached Helmsdale I wanted to carry on Dad finaly called time at Latheron with just 34 miles to John O'Groats, I wanted to finish the ride TODAY so near but so far 34 Miles!!!!!!
Each day I will dedicate the stage to someone who is fighting cancer, is a cancer survivor or has sadly lost their fight against cancer!
My aim and commitment to you all is I want to fight this disease and help Cancer Research UK find cures for all types of cancer!
Can't believe the total has reached over 5 thousand pounds! Every penny raised goes to Cancer Research UK.
Yesterday I rode for Fiona Evans and I know that I made her proud - her love and support has helped me xxx B
Today I ride for my Grandma which is why I started my Crusade Against Cancer last year and makes me smile that we (and that means you) have raised nearly 10 thousand pounds in two years - thankyou xxxx My Grandma is a very very special person who has always been there for me encouraging me to do my best!!! Her love is never ending and has shown me how brave she is xxxx
I also ride for the following people.
Jeanette Howard who sadly lost her fight against cancer but is much thought of by June & David xxxx
Jackie and Billy Cambell both are SURVIVORS of Cancer - thankyou for your love and support on route xxxxx
Brian Murray who is a family friend who had cancer as young boy - he is always smiling and has always supported me - he is a SURVIVOR xxxx
George Johnstone who sadly lost his fight with cancer in October 2004 - His son Chris has come to John O'Groats to support me xxxx
I will always ride for Auntie Kath, I miss her and love her so much xxxx she is an angel who watches over me xxxx
My love today goes to you all today! Billie xxx
To all that said I would not make it 'Well I did it and you helped me do it'!! lol
Will update the page at the start and end of every stage!
Thanks for all my messages of support - when I stop for a break I check and it does give me a lift!
I would like to thank everyone at Müller Dairy who are kindly supporting my bike ride!
LeJog Day 15 Stage 13 - Dingwall - Helmsdale 65.8 Miles
POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - well only two days to go but every mile is hard!
When we finished at Dingwall we had done 829.8 Miles and only got 116.8 miles left!!!!!!
Yesterday's stage from Fort William to Dingwall took us past some of the most stunning scenery along the Caledonian Canal past Fort Augustus, Loch Ness and up to Dingwall xx
I never saw Nessie but if anyone hasn't been up to this part of the country it is beautiful!!!
It is true as the days come down to the end of the ride it is getting harder and harder and I know Dad is struggling now!!!
Not a day goes by when we don't shed tears for Auntie Kath, we are not looking forward to next week - I miss her texts and calls xxxx
Yesterday I rode for Lorraine Drennan - Auntie Lisa I hope that I made your family proud xxx B
Today I ride for a very very special lady who is a great supporter to my cause but also is a great crusader against cancer! Fiona Evans is herself a SURVIVOR of breast cancer! XXX Fiona came with me when I visited the Beatson last year and I was touched by how strong Fiona was, I also give my full support to her Charity that is close to her heart 'Breast Cancer Care' xxxxx
My love today goes to Fiona Evans and her family. Billie xxx
Will update the page at the start and end of every stage!

LeJog Day 14 Stage 12 - Fort William - Dingwall 71.4 Miles POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - only 3 more days to do 188 miles left to ride! The end is in sight for us. For the last 2 years I have done the coast to coast which is 174 miles in 2 days so this should be no problem but both Dad and I are starting to feel it in our legs and both have saddle sores!!! Anyway no self pity I knew this would be hard but as we get near the end of Lejog it gets harder every day but we talk about why I wanted to do this and it takes away the pain as the pain is nothing compared to people who are suffering with cancer!!!!!!
Yesterday was another up and down day we all were down as the whole team missed Pat Jardine and my Mum (& Jamie!!!) x
We left the layby we stopped at the night before and headed to Ardlui it was raining and the midgies were out in force so best to keep riding xxx
We then started the slow climb towards Rannoch Moor every climb gave us a better view of the beautiful mountains and lochs xxxx
I didn't see any eagles but at every stop we looked for them xxx
Once we reached Glencoe we had a rest and some fast downhill runs we knew we were about 14 miles to Fort William, yet again the heavens cried but riding into Fort William was a great feeling xx
Today's stage from Fort William to Dingwall takes us past some of the most stunning scenery along the Caledonian Canal past Fort Augustus, Loch Ness and upto Dingwall xxx Sun is out so should be a good day xx
Yesterday I rode for Nancy Carruthers, Jamie I hope that we made you proud xxx B
Today I ride for Lorraine Drennan who sadly lost her fight with breast cancer and died on 28th April 1995. I didn't know Lorraine, but she was my Auntie Lisa's mum. Lorraine was a very brave lady who fought her illness with great courage.Mum and dad said that during the time she was ill she also raised money for cancer charities. Lorraine fought her illness and like most mothers pretended to her children that she was better than she actually was. I know it was a great shock to Auntie Lisa when she discovered how ill she was in the final few days.
My love to today goes to Auntie Lisa, Kim, Bev, Billy, Bill and their families.

Hi everyone yesterday was yet another special day, we left Kilmarnock in light rain with Pat Jardine joining us on another stage! This lady rocks and at 64 years old puts us all to shame!
It's been great having Pat with us the last two days xxx
Nice having Mum and Jamie in the team van for yesterdays stage xxx
Going into Glasgow was rather different!!!! Pot holes and heavy traffic!
It was a big lift when a car came past beeping it's horn and shouts of 'Go Team Sedge' it was Stuart Elaine Ellice Denbie and Kelsey had come to cheer me on xxxxxxxxxx
After fighting through Glasgow's potholes and Dad had another puncture!!!! It was as quick as a F1 tyre change swapping the wheel!
We arrived at Beatson where we were met by Rowan and some of the scientists who work at the Beatson, they are trying to find a cure for all cancers. These people are the real crusaders! I was told Chris Hoy might be there but sadly he wasn't - his loss lol xxxxx anyway girl power Victoria Pendleton rocks!
The team is great at the Beatson and you can see that money raised is put to good use and not wasted which is what I (and Pat Jardine) want to make sure happens! Xx
Once we left we headed for Loch Lomond where I had a good chat with Pat on the ride!
Yet again the welcome team were out in force - the Irvings and Kelsey were joined by Jackie and Isobel Cambell with a Scotland flag XXXXXXXX thanks Team!
The highlight of my day was when we finished Alan and Karen Hill met me and Alan took me on the motorbike back to the hotel xxxxxxxxxx Guardian Angel back to keep me safe xxx
We went for dinner and then said sad farewell to Pat Mum Jamie Alan & Karen xxxx love you all and thanks for your love and support! Xxxx

Yesterday I rode for 28 million sufferers around the world and fitting as we rode into the Beatson! x
Today I ride for Nancy Carruthers who sadly lost her battle with lung cancer and died on the 16th August 2009. I didn't know Nancy but I know her grandson Jamie who speaks fondly of her. Dad had a call saying it was a matter of hours for Auntie Kath - we both cried and the heavens cried with us.
Every call was so hard waiting to hear. Alan and Scott were great keeping me safe and my Dad rode behind I knew he was suffering. The afternoon was very hard and stopped at Kirkby Stephen in the rain. Thanks to Paul in the support van, Scott and Alan for looking after me. Xxxx

LeJog Day 8 Stage 7 - Clitheroe - Kirkby Stephen 54 Miles POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - Yesterday was a very hard day with mixed emotions, we left Whitchurch in the rain which then turned to a massive downpour which carried on to Warrington. Our clothes were soaked through it was that heavy rain! The A49 gave me some scares where lorries came past and soaked me. We then came to a crash with two lorries which left the road completly blocked! So another detour! Its the first time I have been low on the ride and was struggling to lift myself but thanks to Dad, Paul, Mum and some texts at dinner time which cheered me up. I was able to change clothes into clean fresh riding gear. The weather changed to dry and sunny so the ride to Wigan was great! At Wigan Dad got a call and I knew it was about Auntie Kath he just said we should keep riding. We reached Blackburn which was the planned stop I could see Dad had been crying and was upset. He said Auntie Kath had taken a bad turn and all were concerned for her, we spoke and said we might have to stop ride and drive to Newcastle! Jenni my cousin had phoned my mum to let us know the news when we had finished for the day. I felt angry and upset but we decided to ride some more miles we ended up just past Clitheroe a total of 411 miles.
Jenni and Tony you have been amazing, you are in our thoughts.
Thanks to Carl Schroder for supporting me at the start at Whitchurch xxx

LeJog Day 7 Stage 6 - Whitchurch - Blackburn 62 Miles POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - Yesterday was so nice to get a rest day and we were able to look at what we have achieved so far, 338 miles but that didn't include the extra 14 that we did on Tuesdays stage to Whitchurch! Tuesday was great as we called in at Müller where I stocked up with my vitality drinks. Then had a ride to Whitchurch where we were stopped by Müller cows crossing the road for milking! I couldn't see Mary but asked the farmer and every other farmer if they were Müller cows? Wooohooooo I shouted when they said yes! Will Frawley was great as we celebrated his brother John, we passed where his brother had worked and had lived. It must have been awful for his family as he died on the 24th December! Thanks Will for sharing with me your thoughts and memories.
Thanks to Auntie Hel, Helen and Dave Ridgeway for supporting me at the finish at Whitchurch xxx
My rest day was great with horse riding in the morning and afternoon, it was sad to say goodbye to Pat and Dom who have been my support team since Lands End to Whitchurch. They have kept me safe and were always there if I needed them, love to you both! Uncle Paul now takes over to Annan and I thank him for giving up his time to support my crusade! X

Today I ride for Christine Alison Isaac's memory, my Dad works with John and when he told me about John's wife I was upset she was a brave brave beautiful women. Christine Alison Isaac was 38 years old when she died from breast cancer on the 21st April 1998. She died 3 days before her birthday and on their 13th Wedding anniversary. During her illness she was tirelessly working to raise money for the breast cancer campaign and to raise the awareness of the disease as more than just an older woman's problem. Christine appeared on a two page spread in the Daily Mail to highlight the disease.
She was incredibly brave and makes me humble how she carried on her own crusade about raising awareness and funds for Cancer Research, I will celebrate her life during the ride today and as we ride up the North West will do John proud! thanks for the hug at Müller X.
So this again is why I will continue with my support of Cancer Research UK!

LeJog Day 5 Stage 5 - Chelmarsh - Whitchurch 38.2 Miles
POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone Yesterday I left Stroud and headed in the direction of Worcester 38.5 Miles, weather was nice in the morning and after a climb out of Stroud we came down to Cheltenham. The city centre was scary to ride through, one driver turned left without indicating and didn't see me missing my front wheel by 2 feet! Dad spoke a fluent foreign language that I didn't recognise lol! We left Cheltenham past the racecourse and once we left the main roads it was like riding in France. Had a break at a roadside cafe (owner gave me sweets to help with my engergy). Reached Worcester but had already decided to do more miles so we have a shorter ride today! At Worcester we were met by Pat & Ausma Buckingham where I got a big hug then carried on. At Bewdley there was an old fashioned sweet shop so filled pockets and headed out to Bridgenorth, I finally stopped at 300 mile mark.
Last night went to Pizza Express with Pat & Ausma Buckingham and my support team! Food was great!
Small 38.2 mile ride today so will be calling at Müller Dairy on the way to Whitchurch so will fill up with yoghurts!!!
Legs are sore and I know Dad is feeling it now but at least a rest day tomorrow!

Yesterday was great as I reached Stroud I have completed 1/4 of the distance 235 miles!
I feel good and even Dad said yesterday was enjoyable, there were only 2 x 300ft climbs before we reached Bristol.
Today I am happy as Pat & Ausma Buckingham are coming to see me on route and then go to dinner with them tonight at Pizza Express wooohooo! I was flower girl for their son Pete and his wife Anne last year. Miss you both xxx

Today I ride for Janet Sherry, sadly she died from cancer but was a brave lady. I can remember Janet from a young age, she and her husband Hughie live in my street and she was always smiling and always made a point of coming to see how I was doing, neighbours of old as my Mum and Dad said! As always her family were left devasted which is the case with cancer.
My love to Hughie, Angela, James, Matt and Teresa today xxxxx B
My thoughts are with Pat Jardine who is such an inspiration to me for her efforts with Cancer Research UK she will be at the funeral of her brother Tommy Hill who died from Cancer last Monday and I will be riding for him a week today Annan to Kilmarnock.

LeJog Day 3 Stage 3 - Bridgewater - Stroud 65.4 Miles
POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - I have had an extra hour in bed due to the fact I
completed the extra 9 miles to Bridgewater which is where our hotel base has been since Thursday night - so I can take 9 miles off today's total! - 169 miles are now done!
Today's stage takes me up to Bristol and then up to Stroud.
Thought I would give you some of my thoughts from the last two days -
•Cornwall and Dartmoor has hills, big hills! The last big climb
coming off Dartmoor from Morehamton is unbelievable it didn't end!
Once off Dartmoor the sun shines so was so nice to take off wet weather clothing and be able to ride. After Dartmoor it is pretty flat so was able to ride at 18 - 22 mph much better than 3 - 4 mph up the climbs but reached 38 mph on one of the descents!
•Dartmoor prison is one scary place - came through the mist and rain and there it was on the right! Dartmoor itself is bleak and cold! Must warn Jamie to be good from now on!
•I can't thank enough my on route support team Pat and Dom Greenaway - they are my guardian angels on the road, having drink bottles, food and my Müller vitality strawberry drinks ready for me! When Dad punctured they were there within a few minutes with a spare wheel and had it fixed by the next stop! Pat Dom I love you both and thank you for supporting me and my crusade!
•Puncture League
Me 0 - Dad 1
•Dad said when we were riding yesterday that before I say what my next challenge would be I will promise to tell him and Mum!
•When I am riding I think about the devestation that Cancer causes - the hurt it gives loved ones Why Why Why does the Prime Minister not put finding a cure for Cancer as one of his top priorities??? I have seen the work that the Team does at the Beatson Instatute (Cancer Research UK labs) it can take years to get to clinical trials but these people are the real crusaders in the fight agaist Cancer.
Each day I will dedicate the stage to someone who is fighting cancer, is a cancer survivor or has sadly lost their fight against cancer!
My aim and commitment to you all is I want to fight this disease and help Cancer Research UK find cures for all types of cancer!
Today I ride for Noel Grant Woodman Deans memory. I never met him but I go to the football with Deano his son, he is a season ticket holder at Newcastle and along with Jill they have been a big supporter to my cause! Always meeting me at the end of the stages at Carlisle! Think it will be Annan stage end this time so he can get a beloved fish supper from The Cafe Royal.
Deano you always make me smile so today I hope to make you smile and this stage is for your Dad!

LeJog Day 2 Stage 2 - Liskeard - Taunton 86.9 Miles
POWERED by Müller
Hi everyone - well I am in the van heading to stage 2 start - 73.4 miles are now done! Cornwall was different to anything I have cycled before, very rolling countryside all up and down. I had a nice message from my Auntie Kath from hospital which kept me going!
Today's stage is known as the worst day today on Le Jog - 86.9 miles over dartmoor with some steep climbs 1 x 1500ft 1 x 1000ft and 2 x 500ft looking forward to see how I get on!
Thanks for all my messages of support - when I stop for a break I check and it does give me a lift!

Today I ride for Sir Bobby Robson - I was lucky enough to meet him and was so impressed with his bravery fighting cancer to the end - raising money to fight cancer and to help people who had cancer! He was a lovely man and was always smiling! As a season ticket holder at Newcastle with my Dad I know I have to hopefully finish on Saturday 21st August at John O'Groats as the Toon's first home game is on the Sunday - so hopefully will be a fitting tribute to Sir Bobby!

Billie's Crusade Against Cancer 2010
Thank you.
Just wanted to say thanks to all who supported for my crusade against cancer in 2009. We raised £3645.00 which far exceeded my dream of £1000.00 so thank you from my heart and hope you will join me for Billie's Crusade Against Cancer 2010.
The 2009 web page can still be seen at www.justgiving.com/billiejeansedgwick the money raised was:
Total Raised Online: £2,533.22
Offline Donations: £1,111.78
Gift Aid plus supplement £477.35
So a Grand Total of = £3,645.00 was raised in 2009 – Thank you!
All money (Every single Penny) raised went to Cancer Research UK and I was invited along with my family, Pat Jardine (who is my Cancer Research UK Co-ordinator) and Fiona Evans (Breast Cancer Care) to visit the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow to see the fantastic work they do to and to hear from the doctors who are working on new treatments for Cancer. I was treated like a VIP but I learnt what humble actually means! They told me about their dedicated work and passion to finding a cure for Cancer in particular the work and clinical trials for Breast and Prostate Cancer. They even let me extract DNA from a strawberry – all good fun! Sadly for Insurance purposes I was not allowed to visit the labs but have been promised I can in the future.
In December 2009 the highlight of my year was being invited to the Biennial Glasgow Concert of Christmas Carols & Readings at Glasgow Cathedral. I went with my Dad, Pat Jardine and her daughter Lynda. It was a great evening and again I was made to feel like a star! During the evening I was introduced to HRH The Duke of Gloucester, David Newbigging and his wife Cancer Reserch UK Chairman, Harpal Kumar CEO of Cancer Reserch UK, Ally McCoist, Kaye Adams, Colin Montgomerie, John Sergeant and many more lovely people on a night which raised £15,000 for vital research, thanks to all that made my wonderful night!
So on to this year’s Cycle Challenges and other fundraising events, well after I enjoyed last year I have raised the bar and set my target for a busy 2010.
First as a kick off on Saturday May 1st 2010 I am going to ride the same route as last year 173 miles Hadrian’s Cycleway from Ravenglass to Tynemouth. This year I am being joined by Scott & Lynda Irving, Alan Laurie and my Dad so it should be fun. Last year was great when friends and family met me on the route and at Carlisle – this gave me a huge boost and again I thank all of you. I aim to finish in two days again and hope again that my Grandma will be there to meet me; last year was priceless and will always stay with me.

On Friday 6th August 2010 I will start the 946.6 Miles from Lands End to John O’Groats which I hope to complete in 16 days......
I sprung this on my Mum and Dad when I was at the Beatson Institute in September 2009, their faces were a picture but seeing the good work my money raised does for Cancer Research UK lifts me to do more and more!
I know this will be hard but two weeks in the saddle is nothing compared to the people I have met in the last year who are effected by this cruel disease!
I will be updating this site with news on how it’s going on a weekly basis so please please keep checking………..
The route is now finalised and once put on the site please see if you can come and support the rise at some stage – there have been a number of people who have said they will ride the stages in Cumbria and Scotland with me which is fantastic and makes it more of a fun ride.
