This event is in support of the wonderful work done by St George's church in Baghdad, Iraq, and its charity the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East.

With the rise of ISIS in Syria and northern Iraq, Christians have been suffering terribly. Many hundreds have been murdered and tens of thousands have been forced to flee thier homes. It is understood that the city of Mosul, formally home to one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, has now been completely rid of Christians.

The Vicar of Baghdad, Canon Andrew White, and the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East (http://frrme.org/what-we-do/) have been working to support the many displaced Christians of that region as best they can.
