Story

A lifelong friend to some of us and a poker foe to others, Matt Brand (Brandy) touched the lives of a lot of people, especially locally in Paddock Wood.

Following a battle with Bowel cancer, Brandy passed away on the 1st December last year and very shortly afterwards his Brother-in-Law and one of Brandy's boys convinced some of us to cycle from Brandy's house in his beloved Paddock Wood, Kent to the in-laws house of his beloved wife Caroline in Armagh, Northern Ireland

Everyone was very keen until we saw that it meant cycling 500 miles in 5 days and only one of the group has a clue about cycling and at the time owned a bike!!

So we have 8 of us now who are taking up the challenge:  Richard Holden, Neil Whelan, Gareth Edwards, Martin Smith, Neil Bourne, Steve Wheddon, Wayne Flynn and Nigel Barton

Brandy was so happy when he got to the hospice and was very grateful for all the help and support they gave to make those final precious days as comfortable as possible for Matt and his family that we have chosen to give something back to the Hospice

So we invite you all to dig a deep and maybe a little deeper to help us reach an ambitious target of £10,000

We will shortly be setting up a Facebook page to share details of our training and also some other fundraising activities we are planning in the lead up to the main event

Thanks for visiting our page
