Mid Argyll Pipe Band is Scotland's oldest Pipe Band and we are reknowned for our twist on traditional music. We work extensively with Wild Biscuit music for our more enterprising performances and projects.

The band is committed to nurturing youth music in Mid Argyll and we have a very large contingent under 16 years of age in the performance band.

This year we have 13 new members breaking into the performance band and we badly need uniforms and instruments for them before Pipefest 2010 in Edinburgh, and our joint trip to the Broadisland Gathering with the Dalriada Gaelic Choir in Northern Ireland later this year.

Uniforms and instruments are very expensive so anything you can donate will be very much appreciated.

To raise funds for this we are holding a 12 hour music marathon and there will always be someone playing something during the 12 hour period. The mix of instruments will include Highland Pipes and Drums, Small Pipes, Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Piano, Djembe, Bodhran and even that well known Scottish instrument - the Didgeridoo.
