This is possibly the craziest thing I will ever do but Sharp and I are taking part in an amateur Ladies' Flat Race at Newbury Racecourse on 10th June 2010. Sharp knows all about racing having done so over a hundred times but I haven't a clue so am relying on him to take care of me. We are doing it to raise funds for the Spinal Injuries Association which does terrific work to improve the lives of anyone who has suffered a spinal injury. Kim Bailey has very kindly agreed to let us practise on his gallops but before that we both need to work on our fitness so for the next few months there will be lots of riding for both of us and hours spent on the lateral thigh machine for me and anything else I can think of that will help me to ride him properly on the day and make it a great experience for both us. Please help to make this a very special day for Spinal Injuries by donating on my JustGiving page and if you are free on 10th June, do come along to Newbury to cheer us on and enjoy a day of racing that will benefit SIA. Thank you, Bridget & Sharp
P.S. Recently found out it is not just a Ladies' race and there will be men too! Even more reason for me to make a good job of it.
