Story
We live together in the centre of Bristol, and we want to do our little bit to help. Like many of you, we've embraced the community spirit throughout the Covid-19 crisis. It saddens (and angers) us to know that people are becoming newly homeless throughout the crisis, via:
- Loss of jobs;
- Loss of private rental tenancies;
- Family breakdown;
- Domestic violence; and
- Early prison release; amongst other drivers.
Lydia fancied a lock-down challenge, and Holly's first suggestion was to shave our heads (eeek). So here we are. We’re doing it. The hair is coming off - all of it.
We’re in this together and we’d like you to be too. We’ll live stream the #buzzforbristol🐝 on Saturday 16 May, and record regular updates too.
Caring in Bristol
We are Caring in Bristol. We find gaps in Bristol's provision for those experiencing homelessness and work together with our community to create innovative projects to fill them. From prevention to emergency support, our projects range from producing free citywide resources that empower our city to act, to investing in youth support, helping influence change from the very start. Caring in Bristol has grown from the ground up with the support of thousands of caring individuals and supporters and your generous donations of money and time.
Cheers Drive
The Cheers Drive project was set up in response to the crisis which delivers 350 meal packs a day, seven days a week, (containing breakfast, lunch and dinner) to hotels, hostels and other accommodation where people cannot cook, access food, or need to self-isolate.
Caring in Bristol are now working with Feed the Homeless, Roots, Bosh, The Julian Trust, and The Methodist Centre to deliver a single point of food provision for the streets, the same time, the same place, every day of the week.
THANK YOU
We're both really grateful for your support. Any donation, however small, will make a difference.
