Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Stue, Alan, Ken, Peter and John from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service are all travelling to New York and will run the Tunnel to Towers route wearing full fire kit in memory of Stephen Siller.  Stephen was one of the many heroes who lost his life on 9/11 trying to save others.

28 September marks the 13th annual Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Run in New York, a day when people around the world come together to run in the footsteps of a hero, celebrate the lives of those who died on 9/11 and join forces to do good.

On 9/11, 34-year-old Stephen Siller raced to his firehouse, threw on 60 pounds of equipment and drove to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel which he ran through on foot. Like so many others, he never made it home. Stephen’s siblings started the Tunnel to Towers Run as a memorial tribute to his heroism.

Join The Fire Fighters Charity team in joining fire fighters from all over the world in runing/walking the 5km Stephen ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Centre.
