Story
I have chosen Rosie’s Rainbow Fund because of the amazing work they do for poorly children and their families. I have been incredibly lucky that l have never had to use such a charity and it’s heart breaking that such charities are necessary but fantastic to know they exist.
Rosie’s Rainbow Fund supports sick and disabled children in hospitals, schools and in the community. They run music therapy sessions at the John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital Oxford, the Royal Berks Hospital in Reading and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
They offer bereavement support for families after the loss of a child. In the John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital, they have a therapeutic aromatherapy massage therapist working three days a week, treating and providing pastoral care to the extremely stressed parent carers of long stay children.
In the community they provide music therapy for special needs children in schools and centres around Berks, Bucks and Oxon. They also support disabled children in schools and respite centres with essential equipment.
The trustees of Rosie’s Rainbow Fund have personal experiences of the stress families undergo when a child is seriously ill and in hospital for months on end, and have personally experienced the loss of a child. The charity emerged from an identified need to support children and families in distressing circumstances and to try to alleviate some of the strain.
Raffle tickets are £2.00 each. Please ensure you put your name and the number of raffle tickets you would like when you donate.
