We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

My Dad and I have been fortunate enough to be selected to participate in CWB's 2023 project to Kenya. The charity has two main goals:
1. To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching
adults how to coach
2. Linking the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporating
these messages into everyday coaching sessions

My grandparents were both born and raised in Kenya, I started playing cricket at Ludgrove Prep School and play for Sunbury CC, Langford CC and Radley College. Cricket has become a very important part of my life and I now coach in my free time and so am excited for this opportunity to travel to Kenya with my Dad and help the communities out there.

Kenya is one of the world's poorest nations, with an average earning
of £3 per day and approx 4.2% of the adult population have HIV.
Although FGM is illegal, there are areas where it continues to be
practiced. 73.2% of women aged 15-49 in the Maasai have been
“cut”. CWB supports the charity 28 Too Many and the Maasai Cricket
Warriors to end this practice.

I would like to thank you for any donations no mater the size.

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
