Story

Since it was launched in 2008, The Corporate Markets Challenge has become Lloyds Banking Group Wholesale division's single largest fundraising event, generating almost £300,000 for our charity partner, Opportunity International.

The event is essentially a themed adventure race which involves teams of four earning points in three ways - through fundraising, solving problems and completing physical challenges.

The Corporate & Commercial departments in BSU have 8 teams competing in this event this year to help raise money for a very worthy cause. Colleagues taking part include:

Rebecca Rowe, Lindsay Lejkowski, Pete Owen, David Mackintosh, Diana Honey, Lucy Patterson, Tom Hewitt, Jamie Roberts, Orla Connellan, Gareth Owen, Paul Valente, Vishal Patel, Beth Paton, Brent Stephan, Raman Sall, Toyin Ogundana, Lauren Whitmore, Russell Harvey, Alan Greenham, Iain Pirrie, Kevin Mullen, Karla Alford, Kylie Gray, Jennifer Alexander, Surina Somal, Christian McIntyre, Lucy Begum, Darren Brown, Roger Ireland, Chris Dennis, Hayley Cooper and Craig Carter

As an organisation we are hoping the CM Challenge will raise a further £100,000, to be put towards CM's 2010 target of £212,000, taking the Corporate Markets cumulative total to £445,500 by the end of the year. These funds will not only allow Opportunity International in Malawi to buy a 4 wheel drive bank on wheels, but also to open a hub branch of the Opportunity Bank and seed it with capital in the tea farming region of Mulanje in Malawi.

So please dig deep and donate now!
