In April 2015 we are setting out on a Charity bike ride from Ledbury to Monte Carlo we are doing this for the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Trust as well as club fundraising. We are writing to you as representatives of Canon Frome Cricket Club, which is located near Ledbury in Herefordshire; a beautiful village cricket club overlooking the Malvern Hills.  Canon Frome CC is one of the founding Herefordshire clubs being established in 1938.  Despite its rural location, Canon Frome CC has a very large successful youth section, with over 50 juniors, both boys and girls, regularly attending training, along with an active adult team. 

Bored with the same fundraising events we had a crazy idea; to embark on an incredibly challenging cycle in April 2015 from Ledbury to Monte Carlo in the south of France.  Over 1650Km in 13 days!  We are raising money for the SMA Trust, SMA is a genetic neuromuscular disease, which means it is inherited and affects nerves responsible for muscle function. SMA is the leading genetic killer of infants and toddlers, with approximately 95% of the most severely diagnosed cases resulting in death by the age of 18 months. Children with a less severe form of SMA face the prospect of progressive muscle wasting, loss of mobility and motor function. We are also fundraising to supply electricity to the Cricket ground; this will help junior development in the community.
