Story
As many of you may know we lost our father and husband, Kevin, to cancer on 27 January 2017. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and overcoming the battle, Kevin was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer again in September 2016 and sadly the prognosis was poor. As the sickness worsened, Kevin was admitted to the Foyle Hospice early 2017. As a young family we wanted to do all we could for Kevin at home, and we were somewhat reluctant having him away from the family home, however we did not know the attentive and first
class care Kevin would receive at the Foyle Hospice and this brought a new experience to us all. The family area brought a sense of “home”; so the simple things like watching TV, having a cup of tea together, a short walk in the garden and the young grandchildren getting to visit helped to keep some sense of normality.
The Foyle Hospice simply couldn’t do enough for Kevin and we will be forever grateful for their care and support during Kevin’s final few weeks. Their genuine care for the patients and treating them with humanity and dignity is second to none.
As a token of thanks to the Foyle Hospice we will be climbing Croagh Patrick on Saturday 10th June. We trust that you will recognise the value of these vital services and hope that you will make a donation to this worthy cause.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
