Story
Lydia, Louise and April have worked on projects together since 2009. We are three friends who share similar passions in most things; social responsibility being one of them.
We are embarking on a food business venture, which will have charitable aspects at its core. MOKU Beach is our pending business which we hope to use as a vehicle to fulfil our social responsibility and this volunteering opportunity is our first charitable cause as a team. So we hope you can support us in being the change we want to see in the world.
The girls at Cara girls rescue centre, Kenya, through no fault of their own, have suffered from abuse, neglect, starvation or have been abandoned due to abject poverty of their family. Lydia was born in a village in Kenya and she knows all too well the circumstances these girls have come from, so there is a personal connection to this charity that is greater than empathy.
Education is the most important thing in helping the children of Kenya to get out of the poverty that they live in. CARA Projects is a scheme where Irish volunteers work alongside local builders to build orphanages and educational facilities in Kenya.
Through your help and support we can play some part in touching and rebuilding Africa and giving the people of Kenya a brighter future which they so greatly deserve.
Lydia, April and Tierney will be going to volunteer from the 3rd December at the rescue centre, and your donations will help to buy essentials that are needed for the rescue centre. Anything you can afford will be appreciated.
The below is a breakdown of how your donation could help:
£5 will buy enough cabbage to feed 27 children for 1 week.
£10 will buy one bag of wheat flour
£15 will buy enough milk for 27 children for 1 week
£20 will buy enough rice for 27 children for 1 week
£25 will buy enough water for 1 week
£45 will buy meat for 1 week
