Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Who Cares Scotland is a charity that provides a wide range of support for people who are care experienced, particularly young people.
This includes:
Advocacy - making sure young people are listened to and have a voice.
Training - to ensure that public bodies (NHS, Local Authority etc) understand the needs of young people who are looked after or have experienced care.
Helping young people to participate - through events and activities.
Campaigning and research - raising awareness of the experiences of people who are looked after or have experienced care, so that this informs how services should be delivered to give young people the best start in life.
Shetland directly benefits from the work of Who Cares Scotland with training and advocacy support.
I wanted to do something to highlight the work of Who Cares Scotland in Shetland and so I have organised a sponsored walk with the funds to go to Who Cares Scotland.
The walk will be on September 16th 2018. Starting at 2pm near the Anderson High School. You can fill in the sponsorship form and raise funds or you can just pay £5 on the day to walk either 1, 2 or 5 miles.
If you cannot do a sponsored walk, but would still like to donate then please do so on the just giving page or via text.
Children under 16 can walk for free.
I hope you enjoy the event and we all have a fun afternoon!
Thank you
Kathleen Carolan
