In December 2016 my Dad passed away after a short battle with cancer. He and my family received so much help from the Hospice in the Weald that I wanted to say thank you.
After signing up for their 10k in 2017 and setting up a bootcamp to train for the run I met so many amazing new lifelong friends and strengthened some existing friendships. From there I never looked back! After the second bootcamp this year a few of us decided to try for the marathon in 2019.
I am so proud to be running the London Marathon for Hospice in the Weald. They are a local charity and not part of the NHS, they depend on the support of the community to help them fund their vital services and raise the £7 million needed every year to ensure they can continue to provide their compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all their patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers.
