Thanks for your sponsorship so far! It has been amazing.

Dear All,
I am turning 40 in October this year and it has always been an ambition to do a tandem skydive so what better time to do it than before this milestone.
But this is not the only reason for doing it.... I am doing it to keep a promise I made many many years ago to a wonderful, beautiful, courageous little girl.
I met Lisa Davenall when she was 5 years old and I was 16 years old. I was privilaged to be asked to teach her to swim as my 10 hours experience for my Community Sports Leader Award.
She was a timid little girl who was afraid of the water but after a few weeks and a little coaxing she was progressing well. I will never forget the cuddle she gave me and her Mum's smile as she swam across the width of the learner pool at Witney for the first time.
I continued to teach Lisa until I went to University two years later and she went from strength to strength. In the holidays we would still meet up for a swim and every time I saw her I was blown away by her progress. She went on to win loads of medals at swimming galas and was hotly tipped to be an Olympian.
But Lisa was no ordinary little girl, she was extra-ordinary.
Lisa had been paralysed from the waist down as a result of a tumour at the age of two and continued to battle cancer until she died in August 1995 at the far too young age of thirteen.
I had made a promise to her that I would do something mad to raise loads of money for a cancer charity and it has taken me this long to do 'The Mad Thing!'.
So for Lisa, her family and for so many of my dear family and friends who have been affected by cancer and in memory of some very special people I am doing this 'mad thing' of jumping out of a plane in September this year (with a hunk of a man strapped to my back I hasten to add!!) and I am going to raise loads of money for Cancer Research UK.
I can only do this with your help so please sponsor me with what you can afford to give, however large or small that amount is. As my Grampy used to say "Every little helps said the woman who peed in the sea!"
Without sounding presumptious for those of you who were going to be buying me a 40th birthday present, please don't.... I would much prefer you sponsored me.
You can also help me by posting this on your Facebook page, Twitter page, by forwarding the email and link to your friends and family, forwarding the text or maybe by good old fashioned talking to people, to help me raise as much as I can for Cancer Research UK.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so much for your time reading this and in advance of your generous sponsorship.
With much love
Carol Rowlinson (Timms)
