So I always said that I wouldn’t run a marathon as it was too far. But after completing many half marathons,  it seems that I have changed my mind! As many of you will know, my amazing Dad sadly passed away last year and he always said he would come and watch me if I ran a marathon. Even though he won’t be there in person, I know he will be watching and cheering me on. Throughout my training, there hasn’t been a run or session I have done where I haven’t thought about him and he has definitely spurred me on and given me the determination to keep going. So I am dedicating this marathon- my first and possibly my one and only- to my lovely Dad- who we all miss and think about every single day. 

My Dad was always extremely keen to support charities so I want to run this marathon for Heartbeat - a local charity based in Preston. I have chosen this charity because of the amazing work they do to support heart patients in Preston and Lancashire. As a small local charity, they do not receive any external funding and are solely funded by their own fundraising activities and the generous donations from supporters.
