Story
Thank you for visiting my page!
I can't quite believe I'm in this position. Not long ago, the furthest I'd ever run was 2 miles. At school, I abandoned a 1,500m race believing that being forced to run so far without a purpose (ie chasing a ball) was a severe violation of my human rights. So quite why I decided that endeavouring to run 26 miles would be a good idea, I'm not sure.
After spending December realising that a training schedule of skiing and walking up escalators wouldn't quite cut it, I begain to train in earnest in January - and the last month has not been fun. I've so far run in the snow and ice in London, uphill at 2,400 metres in the snow & ice in Val Thorens, and in the dark a lot. And I've got a long long way to go...
I'm running in support of AMREF. Headquartered in Kenya, AMREF aims to improve provision of healthcare services across Africa, including training community health workers, running education and awareness programmes to fight diseases such as HIV and malaria, and funding research in healthcare projects.
I would enormously appreciate any support you can give - it will give me a purpose, help fund a great cause, and hopefully prevent me bottling it before the big day!
Thank you so much
