We help people facing terminal illness to have the best quality of life possible
Story
Thanks for taking time out from checking facebook, I mean working, to check out our just giving page
As you’re probably aware we plan to tackle the St Luke’s Hospice midnight walk and being the organised souls that we are, the event takes place this Friday. For this reason we need you to get your wallets out ASAP and help us reach our target of £800 and save yourselves the earache of our guilt trips for the rest of time should you choose not to donate...
The walk is 9 miles which is equivalent to walking over George Clooney 8,031 times, the circumference of the London Eye 34 times (interestingly each capsule moves at 26cm per second which is about the same timings we’re looking at..) or walking the length of an Olympic swimming pool 88 times.
So what’s in it for you? Peace of mind- every year, the hospice needs to raise over £2.6m in order to keep in business and with less than a third of that money coming from the Government they need all the help they can get. St Luke's is not an NHS Hospital, nor an exclusive private facility. Providing care free of charge, for rich or poor, young or old, regardless of faith or belief, in a compassionate and peaceful environment, it provides a high standard of skilled medical and nursing care.
So now that you’ve decided to donate just bear in mind the weather forecast is for rain, which obviously won’t affect you on Friday night being indoors probably having fun but should affect the amount you decide to donate to our long soggy walk.....in the cold.....and the dark.....wearing pink....
Thank you so so much,
St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent. We care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness. We are proud to offer all of our services free of charge.
