Here's my story....

On Sunday 22 August 2021 I ran Shrewsbury 10k in aid of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, to raise money to support older people living in Shropshire.

I work at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, it’s been a really difficult 18 months for us all but imagine living on your own with no family or friends you feel you can turn to. Everyday I hear heart-warming stories of how an older person’s life has changed for the better, thanks to the brilliant staff and volunteers I work with.

The pandemic has had a detrimental impact on the lives of so many older people and as a result we are experiencing a huge upsurge in demand for our services. We need to raise more money to help lots more older people in Shropshire. So, I decided to take on my own challenge to help in a very small way during the charity’s 70^th birthday year. 

You can still support me, your donation will go towards helping those living with dementia, reducing loneliness and providing information & advice.

Every penny will make a difference to the life of a local older person, that could be a neighbour, a family member or a friend, so please donate what you can.

Thank you for your support, it was a tough challenge for me but one I thoroughly enjoyed.
