Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 20th September 2009 Catherine Thomas and Mandy Goddard will set off to cycle 455km along the Camino de Santiago, the ancient pilgrim route in northern Spain, to raise money for the new Quaker Meeting House in Salisbury.  This beautiful and historic building has lain derelict for many years while Salisbury Quakers have striven, without lottery funding, to raise money to convert it.  Besides providing a spiritual home for the Quakers, it will be open to the wider community as a venue for supportive, educational and charitable groups.  All the funds Catherine and Mandy raise will go towards making the new Meeting House more welcoming and comfortable as they are meeting all their own expenses.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Salisbury Quakers will be so grateful for all donations.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

In 2002 Salisbury Quaker Meeting bought a derelict but beautiful listed building in the Wilton Road, Salisbury, to convert into a new Meeting House. Without lottery funding they have raised GBP 500,000. Fundraising is continuing to make the Meeting House more comfortable, useful and welcoming to the local community.
