Story
Hi
Those of you who know me well will know that I have taken up rowing as my new hobby and have been training all summer in octs, quads and single skulls with only one unscheduled swim in the Thames!
Every four years the Kingston Grammar Boat Club organises a sponsored row from Radley College Boat Club near Oxford, to Kingston Grammar School Boat Club. This is a huge weekend for the Boat Club and has, in past years, generated substantial funds for both the Boat Club and a nominated Charity which this year is Cancer Research UK.
All the money raised will be shared equally with Cancer Research UK and the target is to raise at least £20,000.
Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 September
The Challenge:
The Distance - over 80 miles through 30 locks
The Participants - Over 100 rowers, including all current KGSBC members, J14 (3rd year) upwards, ex-KGS rowers, and current and former KGS parents
Day 1- Radley College to Henley
Day 2- Henley to KGSBC
The estimated time for arriving at the finishing line on Sunday 20 September at Kingston Grammar School Boat Club will be between 7.20 pm and 8.00 pm
If you would like to come and cheer us along the way, that would be fabulous! Do let Richard or me know and we can give you the approximate timings over the weekend. If you would like to contribute that would fabulous!
So please feel free to dig deep and donate!
