Story
Hello,
I’m Sam, I’m planning to run/walk 60 miles in order to raise money for Border Collies Trust GB.
Me and my partner have two rescues collies and that have completed our family and I want to raise this money to hope that maybe one dog can give and receive the same feeling of belonging to another loving family.
Here is some information about the trust -
Founded in 1996 and rescuing Border Collies and collie crosses since then from our rescue centre in Staffordshire. In 25 years the Trust has rehomed over 9500 collies
My story -
I haven’t always been a runner, there was a time when running a bath seemed like to much running for me. I smoked for 6 years and drank more than a healthy person should. At the age of 19 I decided the path I was walking down wasn’t the path I wanted to walk anymore. After missing the bus home from work one day I decided I would walk the 3 miles home this then became a regular thing and got tried with it taking so long so start to run it instead. Something that started as a challenge and necessity became a pleasure and hobby and I was soon taking part in local park runs and cross country races. I wouldn’t consider myself a long distance runner I do more shorter distances but my current distance Personal Best is 30 miles so I’m aiming to double that on the day of the event.
I will be supported by my amazing girlfriend Katie and my Dad Andy who will both be joining me on the odd lap for company.
